On the pictures you can see my sample sofa two, which I built from oak wood, since beech wood, as is usual in sofa construction, was not available during the Covid period... Your sofa will be made from beech as supply has returned to normal. If you still want oak wood, this is of course possible for an additional charge.

Your sofa will be covered with the highest quality (as well as the most expensive) KVADRAT upholstery fabric from the Hallingdal 65 series, which was designed by Nanna Ditzel in 1965. It was the first wool fabric produced by the Danish manufacturer and has become an icon in the field of textile design. It can be found all over the world, whether in hotels, bars, museums and public spaces. It is not for nothing that so many famous furniture designers and producers resort to this wonderful fabric! It is made of 70% virgin wool and 30% viscose, meets the EU Ecolabel and has the Greenguard Gold certification. More information about e.g. the outstanding performance values can be found on the kvadrat homepage. In case of a stain, you can simply turn over the corresponding seat or back cushion. The upholstery fabric can also be cleaned in a professional dry cleaner. The "salt & pepper" fabric of the sofa on the photos has the color number 0166. The Hallingdal series includes 58 different color variations from which you can choose. Just ask me for your desired color and I will see what is available in time. On the kvadrat homepage the different fabrics are shown very well and in high resolution, but I still recommend  you to get such a fabric sample card. On the one hand you will get an impression of the feel and the high quality of this particular upholstery fabric. On the other hand, you can visualize how the fabrics look under your personal lighting conditions on site.

As far as possible for me and design, I have paid attention to sustainability! For example, the feet and the stoppers are made of the same wood as that from which the interior was made. Plastic was deliberately avoided. Subsequently, all additional parts of wood were stained with environmentally friendly dye stain black and sealed three coats with the only solvent-free clear varnish based on natural materials to have been awarded a good rating in the eco-test. I had originally used organic linseed oil varnish, as with the frame, but it turned out that the stain stains when it comes into contact with water. The frame, which I welded myself, as well as the angles, which I also made myself, are made of recyclable steel. I also wanted to do without varnish and or powder coating, instead I have the frames burnished and also sealed with organic linseed oil varnish. This gives them a unique patina and great industrial look. This is also applied three times and takes min. 4-6 weeks to fully cure. This is a good and above all sustainable and environmentally conscious alternative, but you have to be aware that the impact and scratch protection is not as high as with e.g. 2K paints. The back upholstery straps and the feather cloth used to cover the straps is made of untreated jute. The lacing threads for tying the Nosag wave springs made of hemp fabric.

You prefer it more colorful and a black frame doesn't really match your fabric color? Of course there is also the possibility to paint the metal parts sustainably with organic linseed oil varnish for an additional charge, but the color options are limited. If you want a specific color and we therefore have to resort to varnish or powder coating, this is no problem to me! Also chrome plating or generally galvanizing (gold, copper, etc.) is feasible, but quite expensive.
So basically you can customize your sofa or armchair freely. I look forward to your ideas. Ask me about the feasibility and what additional costs would be expected.

The sofa is upholstered and covered in a small regional upholstery company, whose master craftsman previously worked for 15 years in the upholstered furniture industry in the development. For the wave spring cover, an upholstery felt is used, which is sustainably produced, for example, from old clothes or old jute sacks from coffee imports. For the upholstery I did not want to compromise, because as a customer you should get a durable product, so foam from the PU group (polyurethane or also PUR) is used, which has proven itself in sofa construction. For the seat cushions, as well as among other things in the body, foam RG 35/55 is used. For the back cushions, RG 28/32 foam (slightly softer) is used. Between the said fabric in the body and the upholstery felt are balanced the wave spring arches made of recycled foam remnants (hardness V14).

So there is an enormous amount of time and exclusively handmade in their new sofa, so each is also a unique piece with character. Please do not expect an industrially 100% perfectly worked piece of furniture, if that exists at all. I cannot, will not and do not want to offer that!

There is no need to hide the fact that the sofa is handmade!
